Bogdan Bogdanovic was born on 18 August 1992, in Belgrade, Serbia, FR Yugoslavia. He is the son of Dragan Bogdanović ( father) and Koviljka Bogdanović (mother).

The Serbian player also has a sister named Bojana Bogdanović. The Bogdanović family originally came from Plužine in Montenegro.

The Phoenix Suns picked Bogdanovic with the 27th overall selection in the 2014 NBA draft. However, the Suns traded him to the Sacramento Kings, and he signed with the Kings on July 13, 2017.

Thus, Bogdan made his NBA debut against the Phoenix Suns, the franchise that chose him in the first round but was defeated.

After the season, he had an MRI, which showed a minor rupture of the medial meniscus in his left knee. He underwent meniscus debridement surgery on April 24, 2018. 

Bogdan was sidelined for the entire season due to the injury and surgery. However, he was chosen to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.

In November 2020, the Sacramento Kings traded Bogdanovi to Atlanta Hawks. He inked a four-year, $72 million deal with the Atlanta Hawks.

Bogdan represented Serbia in the European Under-18 Championship in 2010. Later, he was selected to play for Serbia’s Under-19 national team.
