Trent was born on July 9, 1970, in Cedar Rapids in Iowa, USA. However, he did not stay in his birth town for long. Along with his family, he moved to a place named St. Louis in Missouri, where he grew up.

Professional Career

In the year 1993, Green was drafted by the San Diego Chargers. However, he did not get to play on the field during that season. So, he joined the Washington Redskins.

Hence, he was disconnected from the NFL for quite some time. He threw for 3,441 yards with 11 interceptions and 23 touchdowns in Redskins.

Career in Rams

After his time in Redskins, he agreed to a 4-year $17.5 million contract with the St. Louis Rams, which included a $4.5 million signing bonus. However, he was injured in a preseason game and did not get to play for the Rams that season.

Trent started the 2000 season as a backup to Warner. The two combined to lead the Rams to the highest team passing yards total in NFL history at that time.

But, Green was traded during the offseason to the Kansas City Chiefs for the 12th overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft.

A career in Kansas City

In his first season in Kansas City, Green threw for 3,783 yards and 17 touchdowns and threw 24 interceptions. This was a bad performance from him. However, Green improved his games in 2002, throwing 26 touchdowns to only 13 interceptions.

In 2003, he threw for 4,039 yards with 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Similarly, in 2004, Green passed for 4,591 yards, 17 interceptions, and 27 touchdowns, phenomenal play.

Trent had a strong season in 2005 where he threw for 4,010 yards and threw just ten interceptions.

This time he got elected to his second Pro Bowl. Green had four consecutive seasons with a QB rating of 90 or better, which is quite impressive. That must be one of the reasons he was selected for the Pro Bowl.

In a dreadful game in 2006 for Green against Cincinnati Bengal, Trent suffered from a severe concussion. He was unconscious for 15 minutes during the game and was stated as not fit to play football for the time being.

At the end of 2006, he only played where Kansas lost against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts in the playoffs. Hence, his career in Kansas City ended that year.

A career in Miami Dolphins

In 2007, the Chiefs traded Green to the Miami Dolphins. However, his start in Miami Dolphins was jeopardized in October when he suffered from another severe concussion in a game against the Texas Houston.

This event made his fans call for his retirement, but Trent was back with the team in practice. But he was ruled unfit to play and was announced to be placed on injured reserve on October 20, 2007. Soon he was released by the Dolphins on February 11, 2008.

Back with Rams

After his release from the Dolphins, Green agreed to a 3-year deal worth about $9 million with the St. Louis Rams.

In September of 2008, Trent was named the starter for the game against Buffalo Bills. Trent completed 17 of 32 passes for 236 yards with one interception and a quarterback rating of 64.1.

The Rams released Green on the 25 of February 2009.

Trent retired from pro-football on June 12, 2009. He said he had an interest in broadcasting after he retired from football.
