In the year 1993, Green was drafted by the San Diego Chargers. However, he did not get to play on the field during that season. So, he joined the Washington Redskins.

Career in Rams

But, Green was traded during the offseason to the Kansas City Chiefs for the 12th overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft.

In a dreadful game in 2006 for Green against Cincinnati Bengal, Trent suffered from a severe concussion. He was unconscious for 15 minutes during the game and was stated as not fit to play football for the time being.

At the end of 2006, he only played where Kansas lost against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts in the playoffs. Hence, his career in Kansas City ended that year.

A career in Miami Dolphins

In 2007, the Chiefs traded Green to the Miami Dolphins. However, his start in Miami Dolphins was jeopardized in October when he suffered from another severe concussion in a game against the Texas Houston.

This event made his fans call for his retirement, but Trent was back with the team in practice. But he was ruled unfit to play and was announced to be placed on injured reserve on October 20, 2007. Soon he was released by the Dolphins on February 11, 2008.

Back with Rams

After his release from the Dolphins, Green agreed to a 3-year deal worth about $9 million with the St. Louis Rams.

In September of 2008, Trent was named the starter for the game against Buffalo Bills. Trent completed 17 of 32 passes for 236 yards with one interception and a quarterback rating of 64.1.

The Rams released Green on the 25 of February 2009.
